Making Small Latex Bows

This tutorial shows how I make small latex bows from 5mm wide stripes of bubblegum latex (0.35mm):

1. The piece of latex for the bow is 40mm long and 5mm wide. Clean and attach glue to both ends and the center area.

2. Flip one end to the middle with the help of a ruler or grid.

3. Flip the other end to the middle and use some talcum to avoid any unwanted sticking.

4. Take another strip and attach glue. Also attach glue to the center of the bow. Attach the end of the strip as seen on the photo.

5. Wrap the strip around the bow to give the bow the desired form. Cut the strip.

6. This is how the bows should look now

7. Take another two strips of length 30mm each and attach glue to one end (one front, one back)

8. Glue the both stripes together at the desired angle. I prefer ca. 60 degress.

9. Attach glue to the back of the bow and the stripes just glued together.

10. Glue the bow to the stripes and cut away the parts above the bow. Also cut the lower stripes to the desired form and length.

11. The finished bows.

There is also another tutorial on larger bows.

Please let me know, if my instructions work for you. And, let me see some pictures of your bows.

1'o'3 Lions

The idea behind this design is the use of one of the three English lions on a classic, clean and playful set of top and panties.

I cut the lion from 0.35mm red latex and attached it to the front of the panties. Panties and top were cut from 0.35mm white latex using a slightly modified "Strawberry Fields" pattern (look at the pattern page for it).

I also attached ruffles (from 30mm wide stripes) to the back of the panties and to the front of the top.

All edges of the set are finished with victorian blade cut trimmings.

I will show you some photos of Anna wearing this set within the next weeks.

I'm currently working on a one-piece variant. So stay tuned.

Cruel Cobald China

This creation took quite some time to finish.

Cruel Cobal China is based on an idea by JeyOh Photography to transfer the patterns of the widely known Blue Onion Porcelain (the German name is "Zwiebelmuster") to a set of latex undies.

The basic ornaments are always similar and represent a couple of Chinese flowers and fruits with individual meanings. Here's a brief history of the design in case you are interested.

I extracted the patterns from a photo and vectorized them using inkscape (find the SVG and PDF on the pattern page). Then I transfered the patterns (or parts of them) to adhesive labels, stuck them onto 0,35mm blue latex and cut them out using my small scissors. The pieces then were glued to the panties made from 0,35mm white latex.

I also attached a shell cut trimming along the edge to finish the look.

We are currently looking for models to shoot this design.

Make your own Imperial Pasties

Here are the instruction for making your own Imperial Pasties:

1. Get the pattern from here: [SVG] [PDF] (The imperial emblem is a regular hexagon, so I cut the original emblem into 12 pieces and removed 3-4 degrees from each to create the final pattern.).

2. Print the pattern onto paper (see step 4) and also onto a self-adhesive label. Adhere the label onto a piece of 0.35mm white latex (top left).

3. Cut the emblem along the outline using a cutter or scissors (top right). Be patient and precise ;-)

4. When finished cutting (bottom left) attach the label side of the emblem to the paper print using some paper glue. This avoids shifting when the emblem is glued to the black latex (bottom right). Note: The imperial emblem  is symetric, so the paper print does not need to be mirrored.

5. Glue the latex side of the emblem onto a piece of 0.35mm black latex (top).

6. Cut along the outer edge leaving a small black border of 1-2mm (bottom left).

7. Finally cut from the center of the emblem along one edge of the white part and glue the overlapping black behind the emblem to create the cone form.

8. Wash, oil and enjoy the finished pasties (bottom right).

When you are done, send a photo of your pasties to latex@zitronenroellchen.com so we can show our tribute to the dark side. Go MacKenzie!

Here are some action shots.

If Lucasfilm will ask me to remove this post and all images showing the imperial emblem, I will do so immediately.]

Making Small Latex Roses

I have a couple of latex circles as leftovers from making ruffles. Time to convert them into some little latex roses.

1. The circles are cut out from 0.35mm bubblegum latex with an outer diameter of 8cm. I cut out a second circle in the middle of the larger one with a diameter of 4.5cm. This leaves a ring of latex ca. 1.7cm wide (top left).

2. I cleaned both sides with latex cleaner and applied latex milk to both the inner and outer edge of the front and back side. I also cut the ring into two halves for two roses (top right).

3. The next step looks tricky but isn't. I glued the outer circumference onto the inner one to create a ca. 8mm wide strip like the one on the picture (bottom left).

4. I rolled this irregular strip from one end to the other (bottom right).

5. The folded side of the rolled strip now looks similar to a little rose. I applied additional latex milk to the loose end and glued it in a way that the fold goes down to the bottom of the rose (top left).

6. I cut out little leaves from 0.35mm jade green latex (bottom left).

7. Finally I glued the leaves to the bottom of the roses (right).

I would like to see other types of latex flowers. So please send me photos and/or instructions of your creations.

Strawberry Fields Explained

A couple of people asked me for some details about the "Strawberry Fields" underwear worn by Miss Tschirhart.

I used 0.35mm 4D latex in the colors scarlet red and jade green for this creation.

The ruffles are made from small circles (outer diameter 12cm, inner diameter 8cm) with the outer edge cut with a small wave form rotary cutter.

The trimming is cut with a large wave form cutter.

All hearts are cut by hand. Four bows are glued to the panties and two to the top.

The top also has two hidden loops (behind the bows) where an optional neck holder can be attached.

The pattern can be found on the pattern page.

Imperial Pasties

These pasties are made from 0.35mm white and black latex.

The interesting part was the creation of the pattern of the pasties as I had to transform the imperial emblem into the surface of a cylinder (aka pacman).

The imperial emblem is a regular hexagon, so I cut the emblem into 12 pieces and removed 3-4 degrees from each to create the final pattern.

I transfered that pattern to the white latex and cut it with my scissors, glued the white onto the black latex and cut the outline leaving a small overlap for glueing the pasties.

Here is the pattern for the pasties: [SVG] [PDF]

[Copyright note: the imperial emblem is (c) Lucasfilm, Ltd. No copyright infringement is intended. The use of the emblem in this post is only for sake of education and scholarly analysis. I will not sell any items containing copyrighted material from Lucasfilm or others. If Lucasfilm will ask me to remove this post and all images showing the imperial emblem, I will do so immediately.]

My Heart is Red

It has been a while since my last post. I apologize for that, but I moved my home and my working place to a new and shiny location. There was a lot of screwing, drilling, constructing and dragging but no cutting or glueing during the last weeks.

Anyway, here's a lovely new panty made from 0.35mm lemongreen latex with a white edging cut with a large wave form rotary cutter.

Both sides are made of 4 white (10mm wide) latex strips that give the panties a very good fitting (at least on skin).

The pattern is basically a Hello Kitty modification.

The little heart is hand-cut from 0.35mm white latex and glued to the panties (I apply glue to the backside of the applique only).

I'm also almost finished with another cute promotional outfit made-to-measure for Erika Tschirhart and hope I can show some pictures soon.

Making latex bows

Girls like bows.

This tutorial shows how I made a couple of red latex bows for one of my next creations.

1. Cut pieces of 80mm length from a strip of 12mm wide and 0.35mm thick red latex. Change these measurements for smaller or larger bows (top left).

2. Clean each piece on the backside. Appy some latex milk to both edges and to the center. After the glue has dried flip and glue both edges to the center. Use a ruler or the grid of your working space for correct alignment (top right).

3. Use talcum powder to prevent glueing where unwanted on the finished bow parts (bottom left).

4. The knot is made from a 14mm long piece of latex that was cut from a 10mm wide strip. I prefer the knot and the loose ends to be a little bit smaller than the bow. Clean and apply latex milk to the back side of the knot and the frontside of the bow part. Glue half of the knot pice to the bow part, than roll the bow part, so you can glue the other half of the knot piece to the other side of the bow part (bottom right). This is the most difficult part. Practice before you glue!

5. The result should look like the bows on the images to the right (upper left).

6. Cut the loose ends from the 10mm wide strip, approximately at a length of 35mm. Glue two pices together in a sharp angle (top right).

7. Cut the piece even on top, clean and apply glue. Also clean and apply glue to the back of the bow (bottom left).

8. Glue both parts together and cut the loose ends in form. The bows are finished (bottom right).

Bubblegum Combination and Pirate Skirt

I have been busy lately with some non-latex business, but I also finished a made-to-measure set of bubblegum lingerie: panties, bra and a pirate mini skirt.

The panties are basically another variant of the Polka Dot Zipper Panties, made of 0.35mm bubblegum latex with ruffles made of 0.25mm thick black latex rings.

[side note: the problem with Monique is that her mannequin body is not responsive to the soft and shaping tension of the latex garment, a real rubbergirl would benefit from. I hope, I can show you some live shots later.]

The bra is made of the same material with 10mm wide and 0.6mm thick latex shoulder straps. To allow the adjustment of the shoulder straps I added black plastic rings and sliders to the back.

The pattern files for both panties and bra can be found on my pattern page.

The pirate mini skirt is an additional garment that can be worn on top of the panties. On the photo you can still see a small band of the bubblegum latex and the panties' ruffles.

The skirt itself is made of a 40mm wide band of 0.25mm black latex with long ruffles made of the same material. The ruffles are created from two circles. The inner diameter of these circles is about 13cm (circumference of skirt divided by 2 times π) and the outer is about 40cm (inner diameter plus 2 times the desired length).

I also attached a small skull and bones applique cut from 0.35mm white latex (I found the same skull and bones theme on a lot of different web sites without any information on copyright. I hope I did not infringe the authors rights.).

I have also uploaded the mini skirt pattern to the pattern page.

Lace Experiments

I was really excited when I found a black polka dot net lace in my local drapery. It reminded me to some  impressive designs by Atsuko Kudo and to the task of integrating net lace into a custom creation.

While soaking the edge of some lace applique with liquid latex and glueing it to a latex garment is not a big challenge, I wanted to take a sheet of transparent latex and glue the lace behind it, so one can see the lace texture through the latex.

I cleaned the backside of two 0.25mm transparent latex pieces, put the net lace on top and soaked the lace with transparent liquid latex (top left).

On the top right is the result for a sheet of smokey latex. The dots and lace structure is barely visible.

The other example (bottom left) uses a piece of transparent pink latex that has a much better transparency.

For a final experiment (bottom right) I worked without a piece of latex and put the net lace directly on a glass surface and soaked it with liquid latex. When dry the backside has a smooth surface and the testing piece is thinner than in the previous examples.

While the results of these experiments are generally quite satisfying, two problems remain: the "laced" latex loses nearly all its ability to stretch and the "laced" side - where you still feel the lace texture - is not really comfortable on the skin. So this technique is best used sparely.

Do you know a better way to achieve similar results?

Latex Emily

I think that latex underwear with a "Hello Kitty" decal is way too cute for some, so I chose a different and more counterculture character for this tutorial post: Emily the Strange from Cosmic Debris Etc, Inc.

You can see the image I selected to recreate in latex in the lower left corner of the first picture. Above is a (inverted for no particular reason) copy I printed onto a piece of adhesive label.

You also need some latex leftovers in black (0.25mm here), red (0.4mm) and white (0.4mm; not shown on the picture) and some cutting tools of your choice.

I started by glueing the adhesive label to the (cleaned with thinner) piece of black latex. Then I cut the contours of the Emily image with my cutter and the small scissors (use the tool you feel most confident with). As the character is quite complex and has very thin contour lines, this took a while and required patience and concentration during work. You can see the finished black part (without some face details) from the backside on the second picture.

I repeated the process with the red piece of latex, where I cut out the slingshot and the small ball. Because the red parts are later glued behind the black parts, there is no need to cut the the inner contours of the slingshot (see third picture).

On the third picture you can see, that I glued the black pieces (including face details) with the adhesive label side to a piece of paper with a mirrored print of the original motif. This fixes all parts in position and makes the addition of the red parts easier, especially when cleaning all surfaces with thinner.

As a last step I glued the black/red piece onto a small sheet of white latex.

Normally I would clean both parts with thinner and also apply latex milk onto both parts before I let them dry and put them together. For the creation of decals it is sufficient to apply the latex milk to only one part (here the black one) so you do not need to remove the glue from the other one (the red and white ones) later.

It is still necessary to cut the white latex into form. I followed the black contours and the right arm (I transferred it with another printed adhesive label) with the cutter and used some thinner to clean the decal from glue leftovers. The thinner has the additional benefit, that the edges of the black contours kind of "melt" to the red and white parts below. This gives the decal a cleaner texture.

On the last picture you can see the final work lying on a black background. I have talced the decal to preserve it until later (you might notice the matt look and the talcum powder in particular within the slingshot contours). I will show you a polished version later.

Caveat: you will notice that my contour lines are not as thin as the original ones. The reasons are, that on the one hand I might have been too anxious of cutting the contours too thin and spoiling my work. On the other hand the "melting" with thinner also added some width to the contours.

Cute and glossy

This one is cute.

I made these women's panties from white latex (0.35mm) with neon pink edges and black pleats. Making Latex Clothing has a pretty good tutorial on how to make pleats.

To the front side of the panties I attached a "Hello Kitty" decal I created from black and pink latex (Yes, the "Hello Kitty" is made of latex and glued to the panties).

BTW: Dear Sanrio, I used an image of your "Hello Kitty" character for this creation, without asking for your permission. I'm sorry if you are offended by this and will remove the picture immediately on request. I promise, I will never sell any items containing copyrighted material from you (or others). This is just a tribute to your character.
